Day 1: Dar es Salaam -Mikumi Begin your journey from Dar es Salaam, a bustling port city and commercial hub. Head southwest towards Mikumi National Park, which is approximately a 4 to 5-hour drive from Dar es Salaam. Spend time exploring Mikumi National Park, known for its diverse wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species. Consider going on a game drive to experience the beauty of the park.

Day 2: Mikumi Mikumi is one of Tanzania’s popular wildlife reserves, located in the southern part of the country. It is part of the larger Selous Ecosystem and shares a border with the Selous Game Reserve. Wildlife Viewing: Mikumi National Park is home to a variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, and a rich diversity of bird species. The park’s landscape features open grasslands, acacia woodlands, and the Mkata River, providing different habitats for wildlife. Game Drives: Game drives are a popular activity in Mikumi, allowing visitors to explore the park and observe its wildlife. The Mkata River is often a hotspot for animal sightings, and the park offers a chance to see the “Big Five” (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros).

Travel to Udzungwa Mountains: Head southeast towards the Udzungwa Mountains, a mountain range known for its biodiversity, waterfalls, and hiking trails. Explore Udzungwa Mountains: Once you arrive, consider exploring the Udzungwa Mountains National Park. This park is famous for its hiking trails, including the popular Sanje Waterfalls trail, which offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. Hiking and Nature: Enjoy hiking in the lush greenery of the Udzungwa Mountains, where you may encounter unique flora and fauna, including the Udzungwa red colobus monkey.

Day 5: Udzugwa -Ruaha Begin your journey from the Udzungwa Mountains, taking in the scenic beauty of the mountainous landscapes. Travel to Ruaha National Park: Head southwest towards Ruaha National Park, one of Tanzania’s largest and most wildlife-rich national parks. Explore Ruaha National Park: Upon arrival, explore Ruaha National Park, known for its diverse landscapes, including the Great Ruaha River, baobab-dotted plains, and rugged hills. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, and a rich birdlife.

Day 6: Ruaha The park is known for its diverse wildlife, including large herds of elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and a variety of antelope species. The Great Ruaha River, which flows through the park, provides a water source for the animals. Ruaha is a birdwatcher’s paradise with over 570 bird species, including various raptors, hornbills, and water birds.

Day 7: Ruaha -Dar es Salaam Begin your day by departing from Ruaha National Park, enjoying the last moments of wildlife sightings and the unique landscapes. Head eastward towards Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s largest city and a major port on the Indian Ocean. Arrive in Dar es Salaam, where you can explore the city’s vibrant markets, cultural sites, and the coastline.
